Sunshine square
The beginning of another month, and we have a new square to play with in the casual granny crochet along! yay!!
It's been a very busy, wonderful, long weekend here, lots of chocolate eggs, lots of hugs and lots of laughter ... a perfect family gathering.
When I needed a little time on my own, Mandy's #casualgrannyCAL was my escape-to project.
(I hid my crochet in the walk-in-robe. Don't judge me 😁 I have five kids!)

Square number 3 is faster to make than the first two squares - which you can find the patterns for here and here. Mandy's custardy yellow yarn choice for this square had me second guessing my colour choices again. focus! focus!
It took me several squares to work out what colour arrangement I liked best. I really like the ones with a coloured centre circle on a very light background.
This square is a more simple design, which works really well with the others as a supporting act.
I'm thinking I'd like my blanket to finish at around 9 squares across by 13 squares down (45 " x 65") so am currently making ten blocks of each design. I've been following the #casualgrannyCAL feed on Instagram and there are soooo many inspiring colour combinations. If you're on IG don't forget to tag your crochet-along-granny-squares so we can also see your gorgeous grannies.
