Crocheting into a circle / alternative to magic circle
Usually when crocheting a circle, you will begin by making a magic ring. This is how my "Let It Snow...flake" pattern starts.
I found an easy alternative in the book "Tendre Crochet" by Sandrine Deveze . This is the French version below, but it is now available in English as well.
The video below shows how to make a circle of half trebles (half double crochet).
Start with a slip knot.
Make 3 ch (you'll need more if your chosen stitch is taller than a half treble / half double crochet)
Into the first ch make 5 htr (5 hdc)
Pull the tail of the yarn end to close the circle
Slst into second of beginning ch
I hope you've found this video interesting, and even try it yourself sometime,
xo
